I was perusing a well known past life forum recently and came across some interesting questions that I would like to explore here.
How strong is your faith in reincarnation as a worldview?
The original question asked about strength of belief in reincarnation on a number scale, and my answer to that would be 100%. That is not to say I feel I have all the answers or understand the entirety of reality! But for myself, I am 100% certain that reality includes reincarnation. The evidence in my own life is overwhelming.
How do your memories primarily come to you?
I’d say emotionally. I have a lot more visual memories now than I used to (mostly still shots and sometimes as scenes) but I remember the emotions far before I remember the context, usually. Also, as far as senses go, I see things but don’t hear or smell them (thankfully, as olfactory memories tend not to be pleasant!).
A few memories have come to me in dreams, but a lot of them come when I am awake in bed. Sometimes it’ll be right as I’m going to sleep and other times it will be uncomfortably early in the morning.
I’ve also gotten a memory or two from playing my singing bowls. I would recommend working with one if you are interested in the power of sound! There is so much you can do with it, and I love my bowls for all sorts of things.
What got you started on past life exploration?
First the emotions, and then the mysteries. I was a weird kid with a lot of stuff I just couldn’t explain: odd habits and tendencies, crippling anxieties and phobias, strong reactions to things I’d had no direct experience with. I had a decent childhood and great parents, making my quirks and mental issues all the more strange.
When I got a bit older I had some strong emotions for places that I had never had any prior connection to. They were strange enough that it prompted me to talk to others about it, who gave me clues about my situation until I finally went in for a past life reading. Things started making so much sense. I still have a ways to go in solving my mysteries but so many things have been put into context now!
What do you suggest for people who want to know about their pasts but don’t have any memories?
Seek within yourself, first and foremost. There are some excellent exercises to get you started; check around the net for them. They are designed to get you to sit down and examine elements of your current life for clues into your past. From there, you can explore dreamwork and meditation (crystals, herbs, and other tools can be helpful here!) Put it out as your intention to learn about your past lives, and stuff may start trickling in. If you seem to get nothing at first, that’s fine! It may not be time for you yet. But if you have the desire to explore, you can reasonably expect that you are probably meant to do so. There may be other things you need to take care of first in your life before you can focus on your past, though.
Meditation is super important! Get in touch with your guides, higher self, deities, angels, or whoever you feel most connected to. Get in touch with your spiritual self! Past life exploration is not an idle hobby and isn’t to be taken lightly, so this is a good opportunity to stretch other areas of your life as well!
You can always look for regressionists, hypnosis therapists, past life readers, and such to help you navigate if you would like more insight. Memento Vitae is an excellent resource for discovering details about your past lives, and her prices are very reasonable!
