I was at a cathedral in San Francisco this past weekend. As I always do, I stopped to light a candle. After a few moments of reflection I moved on to tour the rest of the place.
It’s a fairly large cathedral so as I made my way back around, I was drawn to the fact that one of the candles seemed to be sputtering. It was the one I had lit.
I watched as the wick split and dripped down the side of the candle before catching flame itself:
For awhile, they were two separate flames before they began to merge into one. I couldn’t help but notice the sign here, to say nothing of the sputtering that had drawn my attention back to the candle in the first place. The universe had a message for me, I think.
Interestingly, it’s not the first time the city of San Francisco has communicated messages to me. It’s a good place to be for synchronicities and messages from Spirit. I have always felt the city was at the seat of something important for me.
Years before I ever moved to California I had a strong pull to be here. As a kid I went to L.A. every year, but I had never made it to the bay area. The first time I did, in 2007, I had never seen anything like it and I knew I couldn’t leave. Something about it has my twin’s energy. I’m pretty sure the candle experience was no accident.
And here it is. Literally twin flames. As I watched it, the metaphor behind the phrase began to make a lot of sense. The newly created merged flame was brighter and bigger than the rest. Two parts becoming one.
I’ve not yet met my twin in the physical this time around. It’s a story that is still unfolding. But I started Aelestrid in part to share this story.
